The Gynt Project took place at the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 2012-13. It had four interlocking parts:
* A multi-space production of “Peer Gynt” in March 2013 at the Theater Arts Experimental Theater and the Digital Arts Resource Center.
* An international conference, “Peer Gynt in a Digital Age,” bringing together Ibsen scholars, designers, and experts on the Peer Gynt legends.
* An exhibition at the Eloise Pickard Smith Gallery, showcasing the design process, production dramaturgy, and stand-alone works drawn from the production.
* Field research in Norway. A team of seven collaborators travel to the land of Gynt, gathering design ideas, folklore, and Ibsen research to bring home to the rest of the team.
** And we produced a stand-alone album of the music.
